A Cross Post

This is a post from my other blog "Facebook Fugitive" here on Blogger http://facebkfugitive.blogspot.com/2016/11/the-day-after-trump-and-my-great-ride.html Thankfully Clinton lost ! Not that I'm a Trump supporter, quite the contrary acutally.I wanted Gary Johnson to be president. But the fraud that is American elections is a rigged game and keeps other parties like the Libertarians and the Greens out of the game so the D's and R's can maintain their strangle hold on the corporate government they have imposed on us.In the end the people always lose and that loss is calculated in percentage. We would have lost more with Clinton than Trump but only on certain issues like gun rights and this forced obamacare shit the D's rammed down our throats,So,I'm happy the D's got their ass kicked but as I said yesterday we now have president elect asswipe. It's still a sad day for America just less sad than it could have been. So,enough about this. There will be plenty to write about this fool over the next 4 years ! Yesterday was an incredible day ! I left home a little after 10AM on the Moto Guzzi and headed east on the Long Island Expressway .The bike was running really good as I was cruising along at about 70mph in the HOV lane.Got out to Manorville and hit some backroads then decided I would go to Greenport . As I road east it warmed up some and there was a cloudless blue sky.No traffic and the ride was just as I had hoped.Went to see my old friend Arial in Greenport. He and his wife are moving to Arizona to Tucson and Arial is trying to pack all his vintage motorcycles and tools. He's got me beat here man .This guy has three times as much crap as me ! So anyway,I stopped but there was no one home but I knew they were around 'cause their dogs were there. Kept heading east .I decided I'd kill some time and ride out to Orient Point ,the eastern point on the north fork of Long Island where I took a walk and shot some photos.
After a nice walk down to the beach stretching my legs after the hour and a half ride out from home I decided to head back towards Greenport. As I was riding west I saw this side road that looked interesting so I turned to explore some and found this great road that went along this tidal inlet so I found a nice place to pull over and hiked around some where I took these photos.
As I walked along taking pictures I saw this path going into the woods so I took it.It led to a spot wher I had a view of the inlet from the middle and as I was taking some more photos I saw this splashing in the water just below me where there was this school of bunker
What a great place ! I walked around some then headed back to my bike to ride on down the road.
Rode a little bit more them pulled over here at this boat launch site before getting into the small village of Orient where I took these final photos of the day.
Back on the bike I headed over to the Main road and to my friends house about 10 miles away .It was good to see my old friend. We spent an hour talking and trying to figure out how to come to terms with letting go of all these treasures we both have collected over the years. We are both faced with the same problem, getting rid of a valuable collection of junk !It was a good day and a good ride.I deactivated my Face Book page after dinner and am moving forward . I'm so glad Clinton got her ass kicked !!!!!

Been A while

Like the title says,it's been a while.I've been busy living my life.Been up at my camp lots working on the place.I decided that I want to keep the place for a while yet and not sell it. Spent most of my time there this summer building a new outhouse and wandering around the North Country.Had my 1971 Yamaha R5 with me in August so I got some riding time in.Bought a kayak too.Had that with me in August as well and had a load of fun going down this river into the wilderness.I'm thinking that next summer I will leave a bike there so I can always just throw a leg over and go.
I'm enjoying my time up at my camp.I went back up in late September when the leaves were changing. No bike or kayak this time,I was in my old 1976 Dodge Aspen.
It was a good trip.Finished the exterior of the outhouse then went wandering and exploring .Found three waterfalls I have never been to,hiked down some cool trails.met one of my new neighbors, had the wood stove going keeping us toasty warm.It was a real good trip.
The trip was over too soon,I could have stayed for a couple weeks but my wife needed to get back so it was over in a week and we are now back down here in Long Island ,NY. Got out kayaking the other day.It was an incredible day with blue skys and 80+ degrees F out.
Then yesterday it was a day of riding the Moto Guzzi ! Went out to eastern Long Island on her cruising around all afternoon. It was a great day and the bike ran like a top.
Fall is my favorite time of year to ride. Now I have to get my 4 two strokes all up and running .They love the cool weather so every fall I service them and use them for a few months before the fucking snow flies.Last year I was out on Christmas Day with all 5 bikes !So,over the next couple days I'll be bringing these beauties back to life from their sleep thru the long hot summer.
So,there you have it,I finally have updated my blog.Things are good with me and with any luck they will remain this way.I'm going to bring home a Yamaha DS7 to get going so I can take it up to the camp and leave it there for the season next year.Have to finish the DS6 that I've been working on & off on for a while.I bought new crank seals for her and fitted new tires on some nice wheels as you can see in the previous post.I've lost my way for a while, got distracted by outside forces, political drama and bullshit, and all the other crap that life in this never never land of the USA throws at us but now I'm going to start to move forward again.I'm 67 years old and time is getting short so I need to get to it !

An Update On The '70 Yamaha

Today was a good day. After posting this morning I went down to the basement and got the wheels I laced up and trued over the winter, dug out some nice Avon RoadRider tires I had put aside for this bike and went to work polishing.I got the wheels all polished then mounted the tires .It was a good day out in my shop.I even managed to cut the grass ! Tomorrow I do other stuff ,perhaps a ride on the Moto Guzzi.Sunday is a rainy day according to the weather on the computer so I'll continue on the little Yamaha and get the thing all clean and ready to install the motor and new wheels & tires.
