A Fall Ride To The Adirondacks

Heading out on Saturday morning for a two week ride up north ! Can't wait.

I went thru the bike and everything is good , all that is left is an oil change ,that gets done today.Started packing and made some plans to ride with my new friend Rick who lives up there. It should be a good two weeks . Gonna try to get some work done on the camp on days that aren't so great for riding and bringing my passport in case I want to go up to Canada for a day or two. I love my camp in the fall. The leaves are incredible in the Adirondacks

Blast down all my favorite roads and discover some new ones. Go hiking to some incredible places with waterfalls , rivers , secluded lakes down dirt roads .Riding in Northern New York this time of year is the best . So,with any luck I'll be outta here on time and posting from the Canadian US border whenever I get into town and find some free wifi . This will be the final test ride of the 1988 K100 to see how it will be out on a long trip. The last ride back in August was a good first test but not really long enough.I need some good weather so I can ride this thing for days at a time not rain like I had in August where I could only get out to go where I was going. It was OK ,I did 1300 or so miles but only really rode for two long days .Being in my camp is really nice for this.It is a good home base to go out day after day and never go down the same road twice. Riding is what having this place is all about for me,it's my motorcycle camp . Someday I will sell it ,I'll try to find someone who rides and has the same love for riding out in the country as I do. When that comes I'll be sad.I've owned this wonderful place for forty one years now !

But,Arizona is calling me. New places to ride, new people to meet, new scenery and new climate that is more suited to my needs.I just can't justify wasting half the year wishing I was riding but sitting on my ass at home because of the shitty weather we have here in New York. Time is short for me now.I turn seventy soon and the clock can stop at any time .
