Finally Finished Working (I Hope)

It looks like I have finally finished up on my last job .Last Friday I buttoned it all up and yesterday I went kayaking ! RETIRED !

It was a good first day out on the water with mild weather and abundant sunshine . There was a pretty stiff breeze from the northwest so I didn't go too far out into the bay. Instead of doing my usual route I stayed in the harbor and enjoyed the calm water with no wind. Saw lots of birds like egrets ,geese, and an osprey sitting on her nest .

After about an hour or so of paddling around in the harbor I found a nice spot along the shore to eat my lunch and take a break before heading out into the bay again for one last attempt .

It was a nice lunch and a welcome  break from the abundant sunshine. After about 15 minutes or so I headed back out through the harbor towards the bay checking out some boats.

As I worked my way out of the harbor into the bay I could feel the wind again but pushed ahead and made it out about a quarter mile when I saw this sail boat heading towards the harbor. It got me thinking how much I loved the time I spent crewing on my late friend Doug's 30 foot Catalina  racing. Those were good times. The water, boats, the beach, body surfing like a seal in the serf, Retirement !

I'll probably always work some even though I'm retired.Shit,I'm 75 what the fuck else can I do with my time . I'm not going to be idle that's for sure. The last two months I did this little project and finished it Friday. It's Tuesday now and I'm already thinking about what is next. I guess it's just who I am  so rather than fight it I'm gonna just roll with it and try to find the right kinds of little projects to keep me going. But first I'm going to be retired awhile working on my 1965 Valiant station wagon ,my motorcycles ,the yard and house I live in ,my camp in the Adirondacks ,and all sorts of other things that I have put off for too long.
