Spring Has Sprung

Yes,it's finally Spring here in New York. I've been enjoying it too. After finishing up the work on the 1966 Yamaha YM1 I started using her.I attached a for sale sign to my pack that I keep on the back of the bike and ride here around.Had a couple of people show interest but nothing has come of it yet.It will sell at some point and until then I'm just enjoying her.I also got all my other bikes up and running so now I have all six of them in service.Been out riding lots.Yesterday I was out on the 1971 Yamaha R5 and the 1969 Yamaha DS6C .Today it is raining so no motorcycles.Today is the day before Easter Sunday. The weather forecast for Sunday isn't good and that sort of bums me out. We have a really good car show and parade on Easter here in Long Island.

So,I guess this year is going to be a wash out. The forecast  now says morning rain 40% chance .Oh well , if the sun does come out at least I'll get to ride later in the day. The other day I was riding on the interstate , that infamous Long Island Expressway ,when as I was going 70 MPH in the HOV lane I hit this pot hole that was long, narrow, and really deep right in the center of the fucking lane. The bike went into a tank slapper ! It was violently shaking from side to side rapidly at 70 MPH and took every ounce of strength to keep it from crashing. I was lucky  I was on the gas and going fast. I opened up the throttle and the bike pulled out of this nightmare .The whole event lasted maybe 2 or 3 seconds but it could have killed me. Well,it didn't and next week I turn 70 years old ! It just wasn't my day to die. Can't really worry too much about these sort of things , shit happens and when your number is up it's up so fuck it,I ride. Been busy doing other work too . All of a sudden all these people want me to do all this work so my life has gone from being stuck here in the house doing nothing but my own bike work to spending my days skin coating walls and ceilings in a couple different houses with no end in sight for the foreseeable future.Wheeling and dealing in old car parts too and getting rid of stuff I don't want to move to Arizona turning it into money to replace what I lost over the winter on that car fiasco with my wife's Honda Accord that blew it's motor. So, there you have it,Spring has sprung and I've come back to life just like the trees and everything else. The ground hog that lives under my shed in the back yard came out a couple weeks ago with two little ones she gave birth to. Now I see them most days out in the field behind our house eating weeds and chasing each other around . Life is good !
