The other day the new seat for my Moto Guzzi finally arrived. I ordered it in late April! It was a birthday present to myself for making it to 75. Well, it got here in December and well worth the wait. It's all made in Italy and perfect!
I'm very happy to finally have this new seat on my bike. Perhaps it will help with the leg issue and make travel long distance possible for me in 2025. Been looking at photos of the trip up to Canada that I took a few years ago. Good memories. These were taken on Prince Edward Island. I rode there after going out on the Cabot Trail and camping up in Eastern Nova Scotia. While waiting in line for the ferry to PEI I met this kid who was riding this BMW. We talked some and decided to get a campsite as the boat was pulling into port. It was night fall. Found a park a couple miles down the road and set up our tents. This is what I love most about traveling on a motorcycle. I always meet these characters. This kid just finished medical school and was taking some time before starting out on his new life as a doctor. He figured he better because there wouldn't be time again for many years to come. We rode together the next day until mid day when we stopped for lunch at this seafood place. Had a great meal and went off in different directions.
I love the people I meet out on the road. We all seem to have a much higher level of freedom than the average people I meet at home. Sure hope I can get one good long last ride in before I kick the bucket. Maybe this seat will help me meet this goal. After we rode off in our own different directions I ended up at this park on the north coast of Prince Edward Island where I spent two days relaxing and hiking around taking pictures of this beautiful place I was in.
Time is getting short now and I need to make this happen. So, with this in mind I'm going to start fixing up the old Moto Guzzi and get ready so when summer gets here I will be ready. The way my little friend Smiley the tortoise died so suddenly and unexpected has given me a sense of urgency that has been lacking lately. I'm an old man now. Damn, I turn 76 in four months. I can do this, I'm sure of it because I have the will to do it.
