Looking Forward

Well, I looked backwards long enough so there won't be a part 2 to that post like I had planned.Screw that, it's time to move forward again. The mess with my wife's car has finally been resolved.I replaced the throttle body and then the electronic accelerator pedal and finally got it running as it should with no check engine light bullshit any more .So back to my plans that have been put off for what seems like forever.I want to go on one last really long motorcycle trip .This is no surprise but I haven't been able to get it off the ground.First it was the leg problem from the fall I took back 3 years ago. It still bothers me but I've adapted to living with it. Then there was all this economic garbage and money was just slipping thru my fingers like sand. I almost was able to pull it off last summer and head south for 5 or 6 weeks but Tropical Storm Debbie changed all that by washing out my bridge up at my place in the Adirondacks. That mess prevented me from going south in late September and probably saved my sorry ass because of the disaster that Hurricane Helene caused.I would have been in the middle of that mess camping on my motorcycle when it took out Ashville and the surrounding area. So,luck smiled on me I guess. Before all this madness back in April I turned 75 and as a present to myself I ordered a new seat for my 1975 Moto Guzzi 850-T. I knew it would take a few months but figured it would be here in plenty of time for my trip south. Well,it never came.I contacted the vendor and he told me it's coming from Italy and this takes time so be patient . Well,it came today Friday December 6th ! It's beautiful and I am one happy guy right now. It's the real deal not some aftermarket junk . All hand made ,a direct replacement ! Check it out.

It wasn't cheap but nothing good ever is so I have nothing to complain about. Now I have the motivation I need to finally start moving forward with fixing up my Moto Guzzi so I can travel on her once again like I did back in 2010 and 2014 . I traveled since then but nothing like I did on those two trips. Been reading some of the posts I wrote while out west on the T in 2010 and it is feeding the desire to hit the road again. So, it's time to stay pointed in this direction and make some sort of a long distance ride a reality. Come May 2025 I am riding a motorcycle 60 fucking years ! This alone is reason enough to hit the road.

My seat 15 years ago out in Northern California on the Lost Coast camping on some BLM land right on the ocean .This place has to be one of the nicest places I have ever camped at.A small campground with 15 sites right on the Pacific Ocean

Even the local animals liked my bike! As you can see there was unlimited fire wood !
